Credentials

Today was the day I have been anticipating. Today officially marks the end of my student life. Today I am officially a registered dietitian! To be a registered dietitian, you have to complete a didactic program in dietetics (aka major in dietetics for your undergrad), graduate, get accepted into an internship, successfully complete the internship, and then pass the RD exam.

When I graduated college, it was great, but I still had to do an internship. When I finished my internship, it was exciting but I knew I still had a lot of work ahead of me to prepare for the exam. So, finally finishing this last step is HUGE. I'm so happy to be done!

This is what I looked like the morning of. Super nervous!

Billie took such good care of me (of course!). He woke up early with me and made me Swedish pancakes for brain food before the test.

Swedish pancakes with fresh fruit and Greek God's Greek Yogurt is maybe the most yummy thing in the world.

Then, after I got the great news that I passed the exam, we celebrated and went out to our favorite little place here in Salt Lake called Sea Salt and got a margarita pizza. I don't think this picture really does it justice, but it was so good!
 Billie loved it!
And,  we had the famous basil gelato. It sounded really weird at first, but it is a little scoop of heaven. How could you celebrate becoming a dietitian in a better way than with really good food?

Today was a GREAT day.

Speaking of great days, the very BEST day should be coming ANY day now. More on that in future posts!

What a pregnant lady wants, a pregnant lady gets.

During dinner Paige decided that she was really craving egg rolls. An hour and a half of intense inner battle later we were getting take-out from the Long-Life Vegi House, a chinese restaurant up the street from us.
After the initial decision to go get egg rolls I may have decided that cream cheese wontons sounded pretty good as well. I'm attributing that to my couvade. Unfortunately we only have a week or two left of pregnancy cravings justifying egg rolls and wontons for dessert.

Great friends

I'm grateful for great friends!
Me at 37 weeks, Suzi at 39

Suzi and I have been lucky enough to be spend lots of time together this year! And it just so happens that our due dates are about 1 1/2 weeks apart. We have spent hours and hours together working out (in the beginning it was working out, and it's a little more like waddling these days) after work. We went to see a movie together last night and finally got a good pregnant picture. She's only a week away from the big day! So excited for them and for us to finally have our babies here! We can't wait.

Pregnancy Progress

Well, we're nearing the end of this whole pregnancy thing. I thought I'd post some pictures of the past two weeks of belly pics.

Here I am at 35 weeks.

And this is the belly at 36 1/2 weeks. I've noticed I seem to be taking pictures in the same few shirts every time. I think I'm running low on things that fit. Oh well, you get the idea!

We can't wait to meet and hold and love and care for our new baby!!!!!!

Crucial Life Skills

Below is a picture of a fault scarp. See if you can find it.
Scroll down to see the solution. Enjoy these other pictures as you go.
This is a picture of my thesis research area. Mount Nebo is the main peak of the skyline.
This is a really cool fold (if that's what you're in to).
Here's some deer that kept me company for a bit while I was doing field work.
Here's the solution. If you found it give yourself a pat on the back. If you didn't then maybe you should get your eyes checked because it's pretty obvious. Then again I am a trained Geologist. I hope you have enjoyed working on one of many crucial life skills.
